Out of This World

While many people believe all Moissanites to be from a meteor, faceted Moissanites, like the ones you see in engagement rings, are grown in a labratory.  Though there have been natural Moissanites found on Earth that have crashlanded from a meteor, they are extremely rare and very small in size.

Why Choose Moissanite?

Many of our clients love Moissanite for their engagement ring because it's a wonderful Diamond simulant. They get the same great look of a classic Diamond ring, but they can get a larger Carat size for less of the cost of natural or labratory grown Diamonds.

How Does Moissanite Compare to Diamonds?

Though the two may look similar, Diamonds and Moissanites are indeed different gemstones. Though both come in a variety of different colors, Moissanite has a different chemical composition- and only looks similar to Diamond. Moissanite also is doubly refractive- which means it does have a different effect when light hits it. Though Diamond and Moissanite have similar durabilities with Moissanite clocking in at a 9.5 on the Mohs Hardness Scale-Diamond still is the more durable gemstone with a score of 10.
